Interrogatives and relatives

Kio - kia (what/how)

Kio estas tulipo?: What is a tulipan? 
Tulipo estas floro: Tulipan is a flower.
Kia estas tulipo: How is a tulipan?
Tulipo estas bela: The tulipan is beautiful.

Kie (Where)

Kie vi loĝas(live)?: Where do you live?
Mi loĝas en(in) vilaĝo(village)?: I live in a village.
La urbo(city) kie mi laboras(work): The city where I work.

Kiam (When)

Kiam vi telefonis(call by phone)?: When did you call?
Åœi ne diris, kiam vi venos: She didn't tell when you will come.

Kiel (How)

Kiel ŝi respondis?: How she respond?
Kiel li venis?: How he came?

Kiom da (how much/how many)

Kiom da minutoj(minutes) estas en unu(one) horo?:How many minutes  are in one hour? 
Kiom da mono(money) vi havas?: How many money you have?

If youa re asking for numbers of order, we use Kioma:

Kioma horo(hour) estas?: ¿What time it is?
La dekunua(eleven): Eleven

Kiu (who)

Kiu vi estas?: Who are you?
Kiun vi amas?: Who you love?
Mi vidas la birdon, kiu kantas: I saw the bird who sings.
Mi vidis la valizon(switcase), kiun vi aĉetis(buy): Vi la maleta que compraste

Kial (Why) You respond with Ĉar(because)

Kial vi ne aĉetis pomojn(apples)?: ¿Why you didn't buy apples?
Ĉar la fruktejo(fruit store) estis fermita:Because the fruit store  was closed. 
Li ne diris, kial li rompis(break) la tason(cup): He din't say who broke the cup.
