This article or section may require cleanup, as it does not appear to have been written by a native English speaker. In fact, I don't really know what this page is talking about.--FETuriousness 22:26, 7 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Templates[edit]

  • A Template is here a (little) field (often of text), which has its own administration outside of the page where you will see it, and its own address in the system so that more than one page can use exactly this field / this text (for example the actual list of languages where the translation of a meaning is available).
  • And if you change something in the template field, it changes the content of all the pages using the concerned template at the same time. So be careful when changing the content of templates.
  • It is possible to add to the template a command for the editing of the template by the user and this command appears in all the pages where the template will be used so that each user can change it easily. The word "edit" appears underlined under the template field.

Navigation templates[edit]

  • In the or in "Community" etc., a navigation template connects the different languages together and is used to select the languages.
  • Within the dictionary each meaning translatable in each language has his own navigation template to connect the translation of the meaning in the different languages.
  • If you add a translation in a new language, it is important to connect your new translation to the chain of the other translations in the different other languages.
    • Please complete the navigation template of this meaning or
    • create (only if necessary) a new navigation template for the new meaning, if it is a new meaning.

Template name[edit]

  • The command "Template:TEMPLATE NAME" links the template with the rest of the page. You can insert it with this code: {{TEMPLATE_NAME}}
  • The next command contains exactly the same TEMPLATE_NAME (in the dictionary you have to adapt both points yourself in the page of your new word or of your new translation of an existing meaning in your new page if you create a dictionary page):

it is the command for the already discussed function "edit" for the template.
