Xenophobia is the fear and/or hatred of the Other. What particular kind of Other depends on the parochialism of the xenophobe, but it is usually foreigners or members of a minority group strongly associated with a foreign country that is deemed threatening at the moment. However, for the especially parochial, it could be people from outside the particular state/province or village.
